For the love of driving

Welcome to the Veloz España 2025 tour vlog from all 9 days of the tour!

GTTourz, first ever fly-away tour and a brand new event for 2025, a genuine grand tour that crossed the vastness that is Spain. Veloz was an exclusive driving experience that blended luxury with adventure, journeying through the roads and mountains that surround the Spanish Costas.

The route took a group of 12 supercars, which included some of the latest models from both Ferrari, Porsche, Aston Martin, BMW and Lotus. This breathtaking journey, from the shores of the Costa del Sol to the majestic Pyrenees and onto the coastline of Northern Spain, included some of the best roads found in and around the mountains and countryside that surround and look down on the coastline of Spain.

Every twist and turn was chosen with purpose, designed to let the true GT performance cars shine on roads that were in superb condition, with very little traffic to hinder our journey. These roads certainly invited you to drive and connect with your car, and also offered the chance to savour the very varied landscapes that unfolded every day before our eyes! From mountain regions, to flat plains, Spain certainly offered a great variety of roads and scenery to enjoy during this tour!

The journey north got underway with a very scenic run up the Mediterranean motorway, through the Costa Del Sol, to reach a very special road which absolutely set the scene for the following 8 days on the road. This little known pass was special enough for two of the most iconic cars built 20 years apart. Yes, it was the scene of a back to back review of the iconic McLaren F1 versus its much younger sister, the GMA T.50. back in 2024 when Henry Catchpole tested them both on this simply epic 60km of driving utopia! On the tour it certainly didn’t disappoint, with just 2 cars to overtake and about the same in the other direction, it was the perfect warm- up for our adventure through España!

The route continued on equally exciting tarmac all the way through the Costa Almeria, Costa Calida and Costa Blanca, all before reaching the mid part of the tour in Costa Valencia, where we had a 2 night stay in our first “Leading Hotel of the World” on the tour, sitting virtually on the beach itself. The route into the hotel on day 4 included the fantastic 992.2 GT3 media route just outside of Valencia, which was a real highlight amongst many, making it very hard for everyone to pick a favourite from over the first 4 days!

As we had 2 nights on the coast, the optional “Super Sunday” loop was enjoyed by three quarters of the group, who were eager to take in more of the roads Costa Blanca had to offer. The 4hr route, on the billiard smooth tarmac, rivalled anything anywhere in Europe, and simply made this a Supercar Sunday experience not to forget!  The day concluded around the pool for a post-drive beer or two, while catching some late afternoon sun! This was only rudely interrupted by a government warning appearing on everyone’s phones to inform us that there was a storm inbound overnight!

Leaving Costa Valencia earlier than planned, as the storm had started to hit, we had to take things a bit easier for the first part of the day, as overnight rain in the mountains had washed rocks onto the road, certainly making it a challenge and definitely interrupting what we had labelled an “If Carlsberg did driving days” route. Possibly the best single day of any tour we have run to date, which was a real shame, but one that was beyond anyone’s control and one that everyone conquered!

Thankfully however, as we reached the less well-known Costa Del Azahar and arrived into the Muntaynes de Prades, the weather eased and we got to enjoy the later part of the “Carlsberg day” on what are now firm contenders for some of the best GTTourz roads anywhere!

Staying in the middle of the mountains at a fabulous boutique style hotel in the Priorat wine region, we also had a contender for new favourite hotel according to all our drivers and navigators. This suite-only, boutique hotel that backs onto a vineyard, is more than worthy of a “Leading Hotel of the World” sign! Having been voted the best in Europe, and amongst the best in the world at the 2024 Travellers Awards, noone could disagree. The rooms, food and ambience of this beautiful venue was top class, and we simply can’t wait to return on our tour in April. Please check out our Costa Carrera | Spain 2026 tour Here

Leaving the new-founded mountain roads, we headed back to more familiar territory for the final couple of days of the tour, taking on many of our old favourites on the south side of the stunning Catalan Pyrenees, which included “Orange Rock Road,” one that we named a few years ago! This incredible route, as well as some other lesser known passes, took us to the parking area of our second “Leading Hotel of the World” on this tour, the fabulous Hotel Camiral Golf & Wellness, a firm favourite from many previous tours, and now home to the prestigious 2031 Ryder Cup!

The penultimate days route headed north across the Pyrenees to reach one of, if not still our favourite road in Europe, the Collada de Toses. This road just never disappoints and after completing it again in 2025 for the second time, we simply can’t wait to return in 2026 on the Costa Carrera tour, when we will get to enjoy it in the opposite direction!

Following the final official lunch stop in Sort, it was time to enjoy the beauty of some little known passes in the Pyrenees, as well as enjoy the scenic beauty of the deserted Pinetea Valley, on route to the final 5* hotel of the tour, the beautifully renovated Can-Franc Estación, which again sits in the middle of the majestic mountains!

The final day’s route to the ferry was more familiar to some of the group, as it’s one we have used in the past to reach the ferry in Santander, and includes some fabulous rural roads and named passes that resemble Italy’s Stelvio pass, ultimately dropping us onto the motorway, just 20mins from the port and our ferry home back to Plymouth!

Veloz España was more than a drive, it was a curated experience for the true petrolhead, that included a blend of epic scenery, iconic roads, great hospitality, and most importantly, it was enjoyed with a group of passionate people that shared each others passion, “For the love of driving!”

Veloz España 2025 was an epic eight days of burning through many tanks of “Smiles per Mile” crossing the vastness of Spain. So if you like what you have seen and read, then why not get involved on the reversed route in April 2026, on our Costa Carrera | Spain 2026 Tour, which will also include a private track session at Guadix circuit near Granada.
